Quick answers to questions couples often ask us.
How far ahead should we book our honeymoon?
If you can, start planning 6 to 12 months ahead, especially for peak travel dates, overwater bungalows, top resort suites and cruise balcony cabins, which tend to sell out first. If your dates are sooner, reach out anyway and we’ll find what’s still available.
Should we book our trip in our married names?
Book every flight, cruise and hotel in the exact name on the passport you’ll be travelling with. If you’re changing your name after the wedding, it’s usually easiest to travel on your current passport and update it once you’re home.
Are there special perks for honeymoons and anniversaries?
Many resorts and cruise lines offer extras for couples, like a bottle of bubbly, a special dinner or an upgrade when available. Some ask for proof, such as your marriage certificate or wedding date. Tell us what you’re celebrating and we’ll check what applies to your trip.
Do we need travel insurance for our honeymoon?
We strongly recommend it. Trip cancellation and emergency medical coverage protect what you’ve spent on your trip and your health while you’re away. You can get a Manulife travel insurance quote online.
