Consultant tip

Most flights land in the south at Hewanorra. Staying up north near Rodney Bay? Plan for about a 1.5 hour scenic drive past the Pitons and banana farms.

What do Canadians need to travel to St. Lucia?

Canadians don’t need a visa for a vacation in St. Lucia. Canadians must travel with a valid passport, and we recommend it be valid for at least six months past your return date. Some destinations only require three months, but six months is the safest rule of thumb. Your travel consultant will let you know about any arrival forms to fill out before you fly.

Which airport should I fly into in St. Lucia?

Most flights from Canada land at Hewanorra International Airport in Vieux Fort, on the south end of the island. Coconut Bay is just minutes away, while the drive north to the Rodney Bay area is usually about 1.5 hours on winding roads, with lots of beautiful views along the way. Your travel consultant can help you plan your transfer.

Is St. Lucia good for families?

Yes! Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa has St. Lucia’s largest water park, a lazy river and a kids’ club on its Splash side, plus the adults-only Harmony side, so it works well for families and mixed groups.

Is St. Lucia good for honeymoons and couples?

Absolutely! With the Pitons, quiet bays, rainforest and adults-only resorts like Secrets St. Lucia and Sandals Grande St. Lucian, it’s one of the most popular honeymoon islands in the Caribbean.

What currency is used in St. Lucia?

The local currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar, but US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas, and hotels take major credit cards. Tipping policies vary by resort, so ask your travel consultant what to expect at yours.

When is the best time to visit St. Lucia?

December to April is the driest and most popular time to visit. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, and those months often have lower prices and plenty of sunshine, so we recommend travel insurance that covers trip interruption.
