Ask Us Anything
What do Canadians need to travel to Curaçao?
Canadians don’t need a visa for a vacation in Curaçao. Canadians must travel with a valid passport, and we recommend it be valid for at least six months past your return date. Some destinations only require three months, but six months is the safest rule of thumb. Every traveller also completes Curaçao’s free online Digital Immigration Card before arriving. Your travel consultant will remind you before you fly.
Is Curaçao good for snorkelling and diving?
Absolutely! Curaçao’s west coast is lined with calm coves and coral reefs right off the beach, which makes it one of the best snorkelling and diving islands in the Caribbean. Your travel consultant can help you book a snorkel or dive excursion.
Which Curaçao resorts are best for families or couples?
Dreams Curaçao has a kids’ club and a teens club, and Sunscape Curaçao is a budget-friendly family pick with a gorgeous beach. Couples will love Sandals Royal Curaçao on Spanish Water Bay.
Is Curaçao outside the hurricane belt?
Yes, Curaçao sits south of the main hurricane belt, so storms are rare. That makes it a great choice for travel in the late summer and fall, when other Caribbean islands are in peak hurricane season. We still recommend travel insurance for every trip.

Can I drink the water in Curaçao?
Yes, Curaçao makes its tap water from desalinated sea water, and it’s considered safe to drink. Resorts also offer bottled water if you prefer.
What currency is used in Curaçao?
Curaçao uses the Caribbean guilder, which replaced the Netherlands Antillean guilder in 2025, but US dollars are accepted almost everywhere in tourist areas, and hotels take major credit cards. Tipping policies vary by resort, so ask your travel consultant what to expect at yours.
